Medison Pharma Canada is currently accepting applications for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL). The Medical Science Liaison is responsible for cultivating current and future thought leaders in academic and clinical medicine at the local, regional, and national levels. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Medical Science professional to join a growing organization, building and maintaining professional relationships with external stakeholders. The position is based in Montreal.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in healthcare, academia, and professional associations, ensuring high scientific standards.
- Act as the primary contact between healthcare practitioners (HCPs) and Medison Medical Affairs.
- Implement and monitor KOL engagement plans, ensuring objectives are met in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
- Respond promptly and effectively to unsolicited questions from HCPs and stakeholders.
- Support the development and review of medical materials, including scientific presentations, educational materials, and slide decks.
- Present clinical and disease state information to diverse audiences, including KOLs, advisors, formulary decision-makers, payers, and internal teams.
- Represent Medison at medical, scientific, and patient advocacy conferences as a scientific resource.
- Provide field-based medical support for clinical research programs, registries, and investigator-sponsored studies as needed.
- Gather and communicate medical insights from HCPs to inform medical strategy and tactics.
- Assist in providing Medical Affairs coverage for conferences, medical rounds, and company-sponsored meetings under the guidance of the Medical Director.
- Maintain extensive knowledge and scientific expertise in assigned disease areas and products.
- Stay informed about pharmaceutical guidelines and regulations (e.g., ICH, GCP, Ethical Practices) and adhere to company policies.
- Lead and participate in external meetings such as advisory boards, CME events, and round tables.
- This role is field-based and externally focused.
Requirements:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (Pharm D, MD, PhD) required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system.
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology or Rare Diseases is highly preferred.
- Bilingual in French and English.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
- Proven ability to work independently with strong self-leadership skills.
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
- Deep scientific and clinical understanding, capable of integrating complex concepts.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, facilitation).
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and build partnerships with opinion leaders.
