------------------ A Brief Overview ------------------

The MSL serves as a field-based scientific expert, responsible for engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), supporting medical education, and providing clinical insights to internal teams. This role supports the Merz Aesthetics portfolio through scientific exchange, congress participation, and strategic initiatives. Bilingual proficiency in English and French (written and verbal) is required for this role.

------------------ Key Responsibilities ------------------

Key Opinion Leader Engagements

  • Identify, develop, and support KOLs regionally, nationally, and internationally across core specialties.
  • Foster collaborative relationships to facilitate unbiased exchange of medical information.
  • Respond to and document unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare providers.
  • Provide clinical insights and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify appropriate medical experts for Merz initiatives.

Scientific Support & Product Expertise

  • Serve as the scientific lead for an assigned product, supporting internal and external education.
  • Maintain high-level clinical knowledge of Merz products and competitors.
  • Participate in internal workshops to strengthen scientific acumen across divisions.
  • Support Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) and educational/publication requests.

Medical Congress Management

  • Plan and attend assigned medical meetings in Canada and the U.S.
  • Educate presenting faculty on Merz science and new indications.
  • Observe relevant sessions, identify educational opportunities, and provide executive summaries for Tier 1 congresses.

Scientific Advisory Boards

  • Support execution of advisory boards to identify knowledge gaps, inform product development, and build consensus on treatment guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong clinical knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas (e.g., tissue engineering, dermatology, immunology).
  • Business acumen and understanding of medical device/pharmaceutical regulatory environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Familiarity with PhRMA, AdvaMed Code, and Health Canada regulations.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Adhere to corporate SOPs and compliance policies.
  • Ensure all scientific and commercial interactions meet legal and regulatory standards.
  • Timely completion of administrative tasks (e.g., travel, expenses, reporting).

Additional Information

  • Interface with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Continually develop product and clinical knowledge to support appropriate use.
  • Attend congresses to gather and report medical intelligence.
  • Assess potential research investigators/sites for Merz clinical programs.
