Job Title: Medical Science Liaison
Location: Greater Toronto Area
Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join their team in the Greater Toronto Area. This field-based role will focus on building strong scientific partnerships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and sharing accurate, balanced, and non-promotional information about our products and research.
Key Responsibilities:- Cultivate and maintain trusted, collaborative relationships with HCPs by delivering clear and unbiased scientific insights about our products, pipeline, and therapeutic areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and execution within the assigned therapeutic area.
- Stay current on scientific developments through literature reviews, medical congress participation, and internal training to maintain expertise and gather relevant competitor intelligence.
- Support internal teams (e.g., medical, marketing, sales) by providing scientific training and updates aligned with therapeutic goals.
- Contribute to the organization and execution of advisory boards and other scientific exchange activities.
- Gather and communicate medical insights and trends from the field to internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify potential research sites and investigators and assist the medical affairs team in evaluating investigator-initiated research proposals.
Qualifications:- Minimum MSc. required (MD or PharmD an asset).
- Solid understanding of MSL responsibilities and best practices.
- At least 2 years of experience in MSL role or related medical affairs role within Canada.
- Diversified product launch experience.
- Professional experience within the country specific pharmaceutical industry and ability to participate in productive scientific dialogue with KOLs and researchers.
- Ability to present and discuss scientific material clearly and concisely through a variety of channels.
- Familiarity with clinical trial processes and regulatory pathways for drug development and approval.
- Willingness to travel within assigned region and to corporate office as needed.
- Able to function in a highly regulated environment and to adhere to all external and internal guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while responding to a variety of questions and requests from HCPs.
- Able to work independently and be a self starter.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities and focus.
