Medical Records Coordinator (18-Month Contract)

The Role:

Medcan is currently recruiting for a Medical Records Coordinator for the Client Care Centre team in a full-time contract position. The ideal candidate is an experienced Medical Records professional who possesses excellent written and verbal communication and has an appreciation for attention to detail. Exceptional administrative back-office support to physicians and Client Care Centre team colleagues. The role is well suited to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a changing environment and have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams. This role allows for the possibility of work on weekends if the need should arise.

The Accountabilities:

• Pulling, ordering and managing charts
• Managing daily incoming faxes and team’s email inbox
• Scan, categorize and upload transferred records from other facilities
• Sort and distribute incoming mail
• Manage and task all miscellaneous requests from external facilities through incoming faxes to appropriate team members
• Manage and task all appointment notifications to appropriate team
• Attend and task release of record requests
• Additional administrative duties as required

The Requirements:

• Minimum 1 years Medical Office experience
• Health Records Diploma and/or Medical Office Administration diploma preferred
• Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
• Proficient in MS word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• The position will be a hybrid of onsite and remote work requirement

This is a full time contract position that is from Monday to Friday weekly 8:30am-5:00pm with potential occasional Saturdays. The contract is expected to run for 18 months.
