POSITION : Medical Radiation Technologist (Magnetic Resonance)

DEPARTMENT :

7.5 hours per shift (subject to change)

WAGE RANGE :

SCALE MINIMUM MAXIMUM
OPSE08 $32.99 / hr $45.55 / hr

RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. The primary function of this position is to perform all types of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations on all types of patients in a caring, customer-focused manner consistent with your level of knowledge, skill, judgement, and training, while adhering to all OCH and department policies and procedures.
  2. Under minimal supervision, responsible for careful use of all imaging equipment, including office equipment used to perform associated duties.
  3. Perform all routine and specialized examinations while paying attention to radiation and electromagnetic protection and accommodating special requests to produce high-quality images.
  4. Practice within the Code of Ethics of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technologists, following hospital and department policies, and taking precautions with infectious patients.
  5. Demonstrate QCH values: accountability, innovation, respect.
REQUIREMENTS :
  1. Graduated from an accredited school of Medical Radiation Technology with a specialty in Magnetic Resonance (MR).
  2. Must be registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) as an MRT(MR).
  3. Current CPR certification.
  4. Registration with the CAMRT is preferred.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Excellent technical and patient care skills.
  7. General knowledge of computer operation, automated, and semi-automated instrumentation/equipment.
