Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Radiation Technologist program completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard diagnostic imaging examinations (general radiography, CT/US where applicable).
• Interpret requisitions, prepare and position patients, and produce high-quality images.
• Ensure radiation safety, equipment upkeep, and patient care during procedures.
• Assist with a variety of imaging procedures including portable radiography and fluoroscopy when required.

The Diagnostic Imaging department offers general radiography, CT, and US service. There is opportunity to learn or enhance CT skills. The Medical Radiation Technician I position includes days, evenings, weekends and on-call with a 30-minute response time. Relocation assistance based on eligibility & availability. Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.


• Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).


• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Recent experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist performing procedures in general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs.


• Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility.
