Medical Radiation Technologist DI Radiology

Job Summary

The Medical Radiation Technologist works as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing their professional expertise to internal/external customers.

Qualifications
  1. Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, Radiography from an accredited educational institution
  2. CMRITO mandatory, MRT (R)
  3. OAMRS highly recommended
  4. Completion of the Intravenous Therapy (IV) – Online Training course and the Central Venous Access Devices – Online Training course through Southlake’s On-line Learning System (SOLs), or plans to complete
  5. Maintains current CPR certification
  6. Knowledge of radiation, Health and Safety Regulations
  7. Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a variety of patient care teams: demonstrating exceptional teamwork and inter-professional collaboration skills
  8. Reliability, self-motivated and ability to work independently with limited supervision: demonstrates individual leadership skills
  9. Ability to train and orientate other health care professions and students
  10. Commitment to ongoing education in relevant discipline
  11. Ability to keep current with changes in technology and aid in implementation of accepted changes
  12. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and previous experience in CT (may include clinical placement)
  13. Safety awareness, including radiation safety
  14. Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  15. Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  16. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  17. Demonstrated individual leadership skills
  18. Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment.
