The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Medical Physicist to join our growing program. Our Medical Physics team includes 6 Medical Physicists, 2 Physics Associates, 2 Engineering Technologists, and an Information Technology Specialist. The RVH’s Hudson Regional Cancer Centre is located in Barrie, Ontario, which serves as the gateway to central Ontario’s picturesque cottage and ski country.
Our radiation treatment program is equipped with four Varian Truebeam Linacs and one Varian Clinac iX. The program also utilizes a Canon Exceed LB CT simulator, Bravos HDR brachytherapy, Eclipse treatment planning system, and the ARIA oncology information system. Our Medical Physics team actively collaborates with the hospital’s diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine programs to support the expanding utilization of MRI and PET-CT in radiation treatment planning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical duties including acceptance and commissioning of equipment, new technique and protocol implementation, quality assurance, chart checking, clinical consultations with physicians and therapists, and staff education. Medical Physicists have opportunities to participate in research activities through RVH’s Research Institute.
