Urgent and Primary Care Centres are medical facilities that provide ongoing medical care and/or timely care for urgent, non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses that should be seen by a healthcare provider within 12 to 24 hours but do not require emergency department services. Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations, this role provides administrative support to the Urgent Primary Care Centre. As the first point of contact, you will ensure a safe, welcoming environment through excellent customer service. The Centre offers urgent care and longitudinal primary care to unattached, vulnerable clients, providing access to timely, person-centered, culturally safe health services. Responsibilities include front desk reception, registration, appointment booking, maintaining charts, managing databases, typing, filing, mail processing, and supporting navigation of the healthcare system.
Education and Experience: Grade 12, completion of a Medical Office Assistant diploma, plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities: Typing 40 wpm, effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, sound judgment, organization, initiative, independence, computer proficiency, knowledge of iPHIS, understanding of office practices, and physical ability to perform duties.
