Medical Office Assistant - Obstetrics & Gynecology Practice

Our busy Obstetrics & Gynecology practice is seeking a dedicated, organized, and professional Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will work alongside a second MOA providing exceptional administrative and clinical support to three physicians; and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Each MOA is expected to provide coverage for others during breaks, vacations, and absences to ensure consistent office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general administrative tasks including greeting patients, managing incoming phone calls and faxes, scheduling appointments, obtaining lab results, and preparing patient charts for clinic.
  • Prepare requisitions for diagnostic investigations and medical specimens.
  • Prepare, stock, and clean examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and occasionally assist physicians with patient positioning during examinations.
  • Book surgical procedures and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant certificate program (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and collaborative team spirit.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
  • Experience using LibreMD EMR is a strong asset.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
