Medical Office Assistant – Full-Time

At Foothills Maternity Group, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for our patients and team members. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our growing practice, focused on providing exceptional care to expecting mothers and their families.

About Us:

Located in Calgary, Alberta, Foothills Maternity Group, specializes in low-risk maternity care, offering comprehensive prenatal and postnatal services. Guided by our values of compassion, excellence, and community support, our clinic is dedicated to supporting women through every stage of pregnancy and early motherhood, ensuring that both mothers and their babies receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and supportive experience for patients, fostering trust and comfort throughout their maternity journey.
  • Greet and assist patients in-person and over the phone, managing appointment scheduling with a focus on prenatal and postnatal care needs.
  • Answer inquiries and provide information about our services to patients and visitors.
  • Optimize patient satisfaction and provider time by effectively managing appointment schedules.
  • Notify team members of patient arrivals to keep appointments on track.
  • Address patient concerns with empathy, maintaining a calming atmosphere in the reception area.
  • Accurately maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality regarding medical, personal, and financial information at all times.
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle patient payments and ensure accurate reconciliation of medical billing as required.

Assist with additional administrative duties as required to support the clinic's operation.

Requirements:

  • Medical Office Assistant degree or certificate.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably in maternity or women’s health.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in EMR systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Shifts:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend shifts.
