Interior Health is seeking a Medical Microbiologist to join their regional microbiology and infection control team, which serves four laboratories in Kelowna, Kamloops, Trail, and Cranbrook. The laboratory in Kelowna performs bacteriology and mycology testing and has a newly developed molecular lab. The candidate will oversee bacteriology testing and may be involved in mycology testing if experienced or interested.
The role includes contributing to clinical consultation for the regional infection prevention and control (IPAC) program and sharing an on-call service with 6 microbiologists. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bacteriology, experience in IPAC consulting, and possibly mycology testing. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with regional administrative, hospital, infection control, and laboratory staff.
