This position is eligible for hybrid work. As a skilled and experienced physician, you have a head for business processes and healthcare leadership and are results oriented. Your comfort with an evidence-based medical approach will be an asset in identifying best practices in the investigation and treatment of injured workers.

Your responsibilities:

In your role as Medical Manager in the Medical Services Department of WCB-Alberta, you will contribute to the development and delivery of quality medical programs and policies based on current medical knowledge. Working with the Medical Services management team, you will collaborate with internal and external physicians and utilize your skill and enthusiasm as a leader to provide direction, support, and advice on the delivery of health care services.

Your experience and skills:

• A medical degree and a minimum of five years of clinical experience are required.

• Training or experience in sports medicine, occupational medicine, or orthopedics as well as experience in disability management or administration is considered a strong asset.

• You must be eligible to practice medicine in Alberta with an unrestricted practice permit on the General Register of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

• Strong analytic, planning and interpersonal skills, sound clinical judgment and an ability to work through systems to achieve positive results are important to success.

• Experience working with the WCB and knowledge of WCB business practices and processes is considered an asset.

Salary: Salary Range 16 (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
