What We Looking For
The successful candidate will work in a Core Laboratory setting that includes Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine and Basic Microbiology procedures.
What You Bring To The Role
- Member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- General Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from the CSMLS
- Highly developed technical skills in a core laboratory setting including Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine and Microbiology are assets
- Current experience in Core Laboratory required
- Experience with a Laboratory Information and computer systems including Meditech Expanse, Remisol, WAM, Caresphere Middleware as well as Microsoft office an asset
- Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic multi-tasking laboratory
- Familiarity with QMS and Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (ACD) Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work well within a team and take leadership role when called upon
- Strong customer service focus and job commitment
- Demonstrates a positive and professional outlook in a rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule
The successful candidate will be required to work rotating days, evenings and night shifts that includes rotating weekends and holidays as required.
