Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound seeks a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join the LABORATORY team. You will collect samples, run diagnostic tests, and prepare reports to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities include quality patient care, teamwork, and adherence to CMLTO and IQMH standards. Must be eligible to practice in listed disciplines and be available for all shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or College Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Eligible to practice in Clinical Chemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Microbiology, Histology.
• CAMLPR Certification.
• Working knowledge of lab software systems; excellent phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff, patients and suppliers; maintain records.
• Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and standby; multi-site coverage.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples and perform a variety of diagnostic tests on patient specimens.
• Analyse and interpret test results and prepare reports for diagnoses and treatment.
• Ensure quality patient care through continuous planning and safety oversight.
• Participate in quality improvement and risk management initiatives as required.
• Operate large and small analyzers and calibration using dedicated instruments.
