Hematology and Coagulation Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) activities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Provide technical, scientific education, and supportive services to assist in the provision of patient care.
- Perform routine automated and manual testing in Haematology, Coagulation, and verify / interpret laboratory results.
- Promote activities that enhance best practice for quality of service and a safe working environment.
Qualifications / Skills :
- Current C.M.L.T.O. Registration as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Recent Haematology experience required.
- Recent Morphology experience preferred.
- Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in Haematology and Coagulation.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of Quality Control theory and its application in troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work as a part of a team and independently as required.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Flexibility / adaptability required.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and middleware preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of CQI.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices.
- Knowledge of IQMH and Accreditation Canada Diagnostics.
- Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint required.
