Job description

Position Overview

A Medical Laboratory Technologist registered with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) will assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing tests on tissue, blood and other body fluids. This temporary part‑time role will be based at Humber River Health, Wilson Site, and supports our commitment to high reliability care.

Employment Status

Temporary Part Time. Duration: July 2027 (subject to change). Hours of Work: Available to work all rotating shifts, including weekends. Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site. Labour Group: OPSEU 577. Reporting Relationship: Manager, Laboratory Services. Hourly Rate: $36.84 - $50.24.

Position Responsibilities

• Routine & Stat Laboratory Testing in Core Laboratory – Chemistry, Hematology and Blood bank.
• Phlebotomy, central processing and other related duties as assigned.
• Can be assigned / trained in other Laboratory Disciplines.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current registration as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• 3‑5 years of recent Clinical Laboratory experience an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively alone or with all team members, including co‑workers, physicians and other healthcare team members.
• Excellent attendance and a record free of discipline.
• Understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices an asset.
