What You'll Do
As a key member of our 24/7 multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Obtain laboratory samples from patients.
- Perform procedures and analyze results per policies.
- Prepare solutions, reagents, and controls for analysis following SOPs.
- Respond to test result inquiries.
- Communicate results appropriately.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments.
- Assist in evaluating and developing technical procedures and policies.
What You Bring
Qualifications:
- CSMLS certification.
- Experience in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, Histology, Cytology, Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics. (New grads welcome!)
- Strong communication, adaptability, and patient care commitment.
- Knowledge of Indigenous health issues, anti-racism, and cultural safety, with a commitment to equity and systemic change.
Core Competencies:
- Understanding of Indigenous-specific racism and systemic barriers, with initiatives to promote safety and belonging.
- Awareness of social and health impacts of colonialism and racism, and legislative commitments.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Recent lab procedures experience.
- Technical competence, quality control, safety awareness.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn about Indigenous issues and anti-racism initiatives.
