Job summary

Dynacare in Brampton, Ontario, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the Microbiology team. You will deliver high-quality clinical testing using the latest technology, ensuring timely results for physicians.

The role is permanent full-time with a Wednesday–Sunday shift, onsite at 115 Midair Court, Brampton. Ideal candidates hold CMLTO registration, have strong problem-solving skills, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CMLTO Registration in good standing.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper sample identification and meet specimen requirements per procedures.
• Maintain quality control standards and troubleshoot missing samples and equipment.
• Record, interpret and/or approve test results.
• Maintain accuracy of required documents.

We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Microbiology team in Brampton, Ontario. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Vacancy Type: Existing

Shift: Wednesday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

How YOU will make a difference:

• Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
• Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
• Maintaining accuracy of appropriate documents
• Troubleshooting of clinical assays and equipment
• Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities

What YOU bring to the role:

• You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment
• You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment
• Carry a CMLTO Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
• Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
• Nice to have: experience in Microbiology

Working conditions:

• Physical and Environmental Demands
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. (pounds)
• High visual requirements
• Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
• Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
• Shift work required

Pay rate: $35.00-$38.75 per hour

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
