Are YOU our next Medical Laboratory Technologist? We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Chemistry team in Kelowna, British Columbia.

You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact downstream solutions and treatment, critical to saving someone’s life.

Status : Permanent Full-time

Hours : Monday to Friday on rotational schedule between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Saturday on rotational basis.

How YOU will make a difference :

• Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
• Performing routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology, including analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC, and troubleshooting.
• Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples, and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Recording, interpreting, and/or approving test results.
• Identifying and reporting incidents and non-conformities.

What YOU bring to the role :

• You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment.
• Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
• Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.

Working conditions :

• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• High visual requirements
• Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
• Perform duties in stationary standing / sitting positions
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents, and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
• Shift work required
