About The Job

Shuswap Lake General Hospital is a 42-bed facility in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap health service area. Located in Salmon Arm, BC, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient, obstetrics, and 24-hour emergency care. Our caseload is varied, and as this site is a smaller STAT Lab, it provides a great learning environment. MLTs rotate through Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Transfusion Medicine, and the manual bench, processing blood, urine, body fluids, and CSFs on site. Typical duties include performing routine and/or complex tests using manual procedures and automated instruments, collecting and receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments, and preparing solutions and control agents.

This is a casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary, with shifts at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions.
