Job description

Position Summary
Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? Are you a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Laboratory department.

Reporting to the Chief Technologist, you will perform routine lab procedures and may rotate through various disciplines (Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, and Anatomical Pathology).

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, Days - 07:00 to 15:00, 09:30 to 17:30

Wrinch Memorial Hospital
Teaching is a time-honored tradition at Wrinch Memorial Hospital. It serves a population of 8,000 with:

1. 9 Complex Care beds
2. 1 Respite bed
3. 10 Acute Care beds
4. Pharmacy
5. Dental Clinic
6. Laboratory
7. Doctor’s Outpatient Clinic
8. 1 secure psychiatric observation room
9. Medical Imaging including ultrasound

Other Health and Community Care Services Include:

1. Public Health
2. First Nation’s Health Authority encompassing Gitxsan Health
3. Mental Health and Addictions
4. Skeena Place Assisted Living Complex
5. Home and Community Care support services
6. Diabetic education
7. Dietician services
8. Visiting specialists including Podiatry, Pediatrician, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Rheumatology, OB/GYN, Cardiology, and Geriatric Assessment Team
9. Pre and Post-Natal outreach programs

1. Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory technology program; R.T. (General).
2. Eligible for certification from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.
