Your Role

The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing phlebotomy and andrology laboratory procedures for patients coming in for cycle monitoring and follow-ups. This includes, but is not limited to, blood collection and processing, preparing specimens for semen analysis, DFI, IUI/TDI, as well as handling basic administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing blood collection, processing, and data entry.
  • Performing Semen Analysis, DNA Fragmentation Index Test, and preparing semen samples for IUI and TDI.
  • Receiving frozen samples from sperm banks and maintaining associated documentation.
  • Documenting patient results, maintaining sample logbooks, and tracking frozen sample inventory.
  • Routine monitoring of the performance of critical laboratory equipment and performing basic troubleshooting on a variety of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal function.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the lab.
  • Following safety rules, health regulations, and preventive measures in the performance of laboratory duties and responsibilities.
  • Other related duties may be assigned.
  • The company has the right to add more responsibilities or change the schedule based on the clinic's needs.

Skills & Requirements

  • 2+ years of Medical Laboratory Technician experience; fertility experience is an asset.
  • Experience in Accuro and Baby Sentry is an asset.
  • Good understanding of medical terminology required.
  • Computer data entry experience required.
  • Experience with using Vitros Blood Analyzer is an asset.

Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize, organize workload, and plan independently.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstration of good attendance and work performance.
  • Knowledgeable about providing a safe and inclusive environment to gender and sexually diverse people (2SLGBTQIA+).
  • Committed to patient-centered care.

Job Types: Part Time, Permanent

Compensation: Based on experience

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • 2 to 3 days a week
  • Weekend availability
  • Covering vacation time

Parking: We offer free parking to staff.

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
