Job summary

Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Laboratory Services team. You will collect blood and other specimens, perform ECGs, support point-of-care testing, and prepare samples for analysis and transport to ensure clinicians have timely information for diagnoses and treatment.

You will work in a high-volume hospital, contributing to quality assurance, specimen handling, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to support patient care

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accreditation Canada-recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program at a minimum of a certificate level.
• CSMLS certification required throughout the term of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and other specimens, perform ECGs, and support point-of-care testing.
• Prepare samples for analysis and transport to the appropriate area.
• Help ensure healthcare providers have the information they need for timely diagnoses and care.
• Contribute to quality assurance and laboratory operations in a fast-paced hospital setting.
