The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory and will bring a deep commitment to patient care, technical excellence, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and diagnostics on biological samples
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Participate in equipment maintenance, quality control, and quality assurance procedures (daily, weekly, monthly logs).
  • Maintains equipment and responds to any maintenance requirements to ensure optimal functionality
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and manage inventory and supplies at acceptable levels for all laboratory areas
  • Organizes and maintains accurate records, including test reports and all andrology procedures, documented in EMR and patient records.
  • Ensure strict adherence to lab protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards

What We're Looking For

  • BSc in biology, biological sciences or related field
  • Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills with attention to detail in sample collection.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta
  • Participation in weekend and holiday rotations is required
