Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with English, Math, Biology, Chemistry or equivalents.
• Completion of a certified Medical Lab Assistant course is required.
• CSMLS certification required or eligible for certification.
• NSRMLS licensure required or eligible for licensure.
• Knowledge of specimen procurement and phlebotomy.
• Willingness to use computer systems for workflows.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in a similar lab is an asset.
• MEDITECH experience is an asset.
• Second language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform venous and capillary blood collections.
• Use MEDITECH for order entry and processing.
• Clean and sterilize work areas and equipment.
• Process blood specimens and prepare reagents.
• Perform other related duties as required.
