Job description

Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll is actively seeking applicants for a Medical Laboratory Assistant position. Medical Laboratory Assistants collect, prepare, label and refer laboratory specimens and perform other clerical duties as directed.

Qualifications:

• Completed post-secondary course at an officially recognized community college or technical institution related to phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant Program;
• Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (OMST) required;
• 2 years' experience in phlebotomy in a hospital environment;
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deescalate and provide a positive patient experience;
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis;
• Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable.

Other pertinent conditions:

• Salary Range: As per the OPSEU collective agreement ($32.59 per hour to $37.26 per hour)
