LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our High Volume Chemistry team in Burnaby, British Columbia (3680 Gilmore Way). Relocate to Burnaby, BC! (Candidates MUST be eligible to work within Canada & reside outside of British Columbia)

Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency, and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and better health outcomes. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Relocate to Burnaby, BC! (Relocation Allowance Available! Qualified candidates for permanent placements may be eligible for financial relocation assistance at hire. Please discuss this with your recruiter during the hiring process.)

This is a part-time regular role working 20-37.5 hours per week with flexible shifts to support work/life balance. LifeLabs facilities are teaching laboratories offering opportunities to share knowledge, 24-hour medical support, and the chance to mentor college and university students.

Shifts : Flexible shifts working 22.5 hours per week, rotating through days, evenings, and nights.

Note : This is a union role with an internal deadline of January 24, 2024.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing.
  • Performing, interpreting, and releasing results while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Identifying incidents and non-conformities, developing corrective actions, escalating issues, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Assisting with evaluating and implementing new technology.
  • Participating in problem-solving related to workflow and work organization.

LifeLabs seeks a Registered Technologist with CSMLS who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, adhering to safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards. Do you have :

  • College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse individuals.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge.
  • Problem-solving skills, including issue identification and follow-up.
  • Ability to uphold safety, privacy, and confidentiality standards.

Hiring Range : $32.99 to $40.70

The final salary will depend on experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity.
