Medical Lab Technologist - Mid Low Chemistry

Role: Our Medical Lab Technologists perform accurate and timely specimen testing, contributing to patient well-being and health outcomes. Our facilities serve as teaching laboratories, offering opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional growth, with support from our Medical Science team and Medical Library.

Details:

• Status: Regular full-time
• Shift: 6-week rotation (mix of weekdays, evenings, weekends)
• Discipline: Mid Low Chemistry
• Number of positions: 1
• Start Date: ASAP
• Union: BCGEU Collective Agreement

Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing.
• Prepare, process, and document samples accurately.
• Interpret and report results, maintaining confidentiality.
• Identify incidents and non-conformities, participate in corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with new technology evaluation and implementation.
• Participate in workflow problem solving.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• College diploma or university degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• CSMLS registration in good standing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and curiosity.
• Ability to distinguish multiple colors.
• Proficiency in MS Office and laboratory analyzers.
