Research Institute of the MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre located in Montreal, Quebec. It serves as the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The institute is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Technical Platform Manager - Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), and following established governmental guidelines and regulations, the incumbent is responsible for conducting primarily computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations for RI-MUHC clinical studies.

The Centre for Innovative Medicine is located in the new Glen site hospital, a unique 5000 m2 facility dedicated exclusively to clinical research. More information on the CIM can be found at http://rimuhc.ca/research-centres.

General Duties
  1. Receive and prepare patients, explaining the exam procedures.
  2. Perform imaging examinations primarily using Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), in accordance with the clinical research protocol and imaging manual for both adults and children. Use other imaging modalities as required by the study.
  3. Insert catheters and inject contrast agents as needed.
  4. Schedule appointments with study coordinators.
  5. Scan medical requisitions and print labels.
  6. De-identify and upload images via web portals to transmit to sponsors and respond to queries.
  7. Ensure safety around magnetic fields and equipment conformity.
  8. Upload images to PACS.
  9. Meet with research teams upon request.
  10. Act as a liaison between study coordinators and research radiologists.
  11. Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.
