Job summary

Novartis Canada is seeking a Medical Excellence Lead to translate strategy into Field Medical execution and sustain IMEx processes. You will own metrics, quality oversight, and harmonized ways of working across Medical Affairs in a hybrid Toronto setting.

The role requires 4+ years in Medical Affairs with MSL leadership, strong scientific credibility, and the ability to drive improvements using data and stakeholder influence. Advanced English is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Medical Affairs including MSL leadership or field medical operations.
• Strong understanding of MSL realities with scientific credibility.
• Experience translating strategy into execution using metrics.
• Ability to lead autonomously with decisiveness and minimal supervision.
• Strong stakeholder influence across a matrix organization.
• Advanced English speaking and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Canada’s Medical Excellence agenda and strengthen Field Medical execution across therapeutic areas.
• Translate Medical strategy into practical, consistent and measurable execution for Field Medical teams.
• Own Medical Excellence metrics, reporting, quality oversight and continuous-improvement priorities.
• Sustain IMEx implementation and embed harmonized ways of working across Medical Affairs.
• Define and advance capability-building priorities for MSL Leads, MSLs and relevant Medical stakeholders.
• Partner with Medical leadership, therapeutic-area teams, Medical Governance, Evidence Generation, Medical Information, Excellence & Execution, IMACE, IMEx and regional Field Medical Excellence partners.
• Identify and resolve operational barriers with sound judgement, escalating material risks when required.
• Use AI, CRM, dashboards and medical activity-tracking/reporting tools to improve visibility, follow-through and execution discipline.
