Our Village of Ridgeview Court in Milton has an exciting opportunity for a MEDICAL DIRECTOR to join their village team.

To be successful as our new Medical Director, you will need:

  • Good Standing with the College of Physicians within the Province of Ontario
  • Current knowledge of geriatrics, gerontology, and chronic disease management
  • Within 12 months of commencing responsibilities, complete the Medical Director Course offered by Ontario Long Term Care Clinicians (OLTCC) if not already completed
  • Participate in the Medical Advisory Committee and support Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Develop, implement, monitor & evaluate the Village Medical Services
  • Support, mentor, and review the Attending Physician(s)
  • Demonstrate experience directing Resident Care Plans
  • Collaborate with the Village team to provide insight into clinical policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Assist in Village-wide priorities such as Outbreak Management, Infection Control, Pandemic Planning, Medication Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Palliative Care, and Risk Management
  • Provide standard on-site hours
  • Ensure Attending Physicians and Nurse Practitioners comply with village policies and procedures, and ensure all medical students on site are registered and appropriately supervised
  • Arrange on-call and after-hours coverage
  • Provide medical liaison with local hospitals and community partners
  • Support MLTC compliance reviews
  • Participate in care planning with families, residents, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act 2021 and Health & Safety

  • Collaborate with the village team to provide leadership on quality resident care, acting as a mentor and educator to the medical and clinical team members.
