Salary Range: $3,650- $4,525 CAD per month

We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications .

Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

As a member of the Risk Engineering team, you will get hands-on experience building a world-class manufacturing operation and will be pivotal in developing best practices as we scale our capability and capacity. The Risk Engineering Co-op responsibilities will be varied and revolve around analysing the impact of proposed processes and design changes on patient safety with the risk management team and working on process improvements with the production and engineering teams.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

  • Risk analysis of proposed process and design changes, including working with testing and requirements teams to ensure that control measures are effective
  • Contributing to the risk management file for commercially viable product
  • Conducting design reviews for FMEAs, requirements, and process control plans

  • Some experience with FMEAs and root cause analysis
  • Enrollment in post-secondary program such as mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or other program related to medical device design and manufacturing
  • Completion of at least 2 academic years and 1 co-op work term
