Job summary

AirSculpt is now hiring casual MDRTs in Toronto! Casual MDRTs will work 1-2 days per week and approximately 1 Saturday each month.

Your Role

The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician is responsible for instrument cleaning, processing, and sterilization in accordance with manufacturer recommendations; maintaining logs to meet regulatory standards; performing cleaning functions throughout the clinic to uphold a safe, clean, and attractive environment; understanding and following Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines; restocking supplies; and performing other duties as assigned.

Primary Job Responsibilities :

  1. Perform all MDR duties ethically and legally to ensure patient safety.
  2. Apply infection prevention and control measures in all areas of practice.
  3. Operate onsite MDR equipment safely and correctly.
  4. Conduct routine maintenance and quality control of MDR equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate MDR logs and records.
  6. Perform reprocessing steps to achieve disinfection or sterilization of medical equipment.
  7. Clean, sanitize, and stock exam, waiting, procedure, and recovery rooms.
  8. Prepare instruments and supplies for storage and distribution following established policies.
  9. Report or remove malfunctioning equipment or damaged instruments.
  10. Rotate stock and reprocess outdated supplies as per clinic procedures.
  11. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Physical endurance to meet job demands.
  • Experience with reprocessing equipment such as washer disinfectors, steam sterilizers, and low-temperature sterilizers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow.
  • Attention to detail and good judgment skills.
  • Interest in health services and comfort with medical procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic approach towards patients.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.

Education & Experience :

  • Minimum grade 12 education required.
  • Completion of a recognized Sterile Processing Technician Certificate Program or MDRT course.
  • Recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (e.g., Medical Device Reprocessing Theory, or CMDRT certification) is an asset.
  • Experience in a medical office, customer service, patient care, or medical administrative roles is an asset.

Full compensation packages are based on experience and relevant certifications.
