Prime seeks an Editor to review and edit a broad range of content outputs, ensuring grammar, consistency, and alignment with journal and client style guides. You will apply digital markup tools and provide clear feedback to support timely delivery.

The role requires a life sciences degree, 2+ years in medical communications, and flawless English. Expertise in tracking changes and collaboration with studios will be essential to maintain high editorial standards.

Qualifications

  • Life sciences degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience working for a medical communications company, medical journal or similar.
  • Highest standards of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solutions-focused, sound judgement and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced agency setting.
  • Strong multi-tasking, planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, EndNote, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Experience with digital markup, tracked changes, and editing tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Openness to learning, feedback and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and editing a wide range of content outputs (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides, PDFs, digital materials) for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity.
  • Ensuring alignment with house, client and journal style guides.
  • Applying consistent and appropriate use of digital markup tools, tracked changes and comments to provide clear, actionable editorial feedback.
  • Proofing typeset copy to include layout considerations and liaising with studio/journal for amendments.
  • Checking redrawn figures, PowerPoint and PDFs from studio for accuracy.
  • Working with teams to ensure copyright permissions are in place and correct wording is included.
  • Owning and updating client style guides; ensuring consistent application across accounts.
  • Verifying content for scientific accuracy and consistency by checking data, references, and sources.
  • Collaborating with the scientific team to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Escalating concerns or unclear data to relevant team members to ensure outputs meet Prime quality standards.
  • Recording and monitoring actual vs budgeted time and submitting timesheets weekly.
  • Flagging when task scope, timelines or budgets are misaligned.

The Role

OurEditors review and edit a wide range of content outputs (including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides, PDFs,anddigital materials) for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity while ensuring alignment with house,clientand journal style guides. They apply consistent andappropriate useof digital markup tools, trackedchangesand comments to provide clear, actionable editorial feedback.

They contribute to effectiveandtimelyproject deliveryby performing dummy submissions, ensuring the team is aware of specific requirements related to journal and congress guidelines. They proactivelycommunicateand collaboratewith internal teamsto ensure best practices are being followed.

The right candidate will have impeccable English spelling,punctuationand grammar skills, and will display meticulous attention to detail.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Reviewing and editingawide range of content outputs (includingmanuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides,PDFs,digital materials) for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity.
  • Ensuring alignment withhouse,clientand journal styleguides.
  • Applying consistent andappropriate useof digital markup tools, tracking changes and comments to provide clear, actionable editorial feedback.
  • Proofing typeset copy to include consideration of layout (figures/tables, colors, size, quality, and resolution) and liaise with studio and/or journal for necessaryamends.
  • Checking redrawn figures,PowerPointand PDFs from studio to ensure accuracy versussubmittedmaterials.
  • Working with the teams to ensureall required copyright and author permissions are inplace,and the relevant copyright wording is included for reproduced materials.
  • Owningand updating client style guides; ensures consistent application across accounts.
  • Verifying content for scientific accuracy and consistency by verifying data, references, and source materials in line with SOPs.
  • Collaborating with the scientific team to resolve data discrepancies or uncertainties.
  • Escalating concerns or unclear data to relevant team members to ensure final outputs meet Prime quality standards.
  • Recording and monitoring actual vs. budgeted time on projects and completing timesheets accurately each week, submitting by the deadline.
