Job Responsibilities

Serve as Research Biller for the Division of Hematology-Oncology Clinical Trials Unit. Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Performance of project management, daily billing review, and approval of all research billing charges in CareConnect.
  2. Management of the billing approvals in CareConnect, Excel, hard copy paper bills, or Excel spreadsheets.
  3. Work with the study teams to reconcile billing charges via phone, E-mail, or in person.
  4. Work with CareConnect Super Users to report any billing corrections or system problems.
  5. Quality control of registration and billing errors, correction of billing, development, and maintenance of billing, and OnCore update reports.
  6. Develop reports for Management.
  7. Review research protocols to the budget to validate exams and determine if a contract amendment is needed or to determine the correct billing path.
  8. Work with Management on billing-related projects.
  9. Provide overall billing support to the Finance Office and serve as backup for divisional needs.
  10. Assist with special projects as requested.
Must Have Requirements
  • 2+ years of medical billing experience
  • Strong knowledge of CPT codes and medical terminology, specifically within Hematology Oncology
  • Strong Excel Skills (ability to generate reports)
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills relating to analyzing data

  • CareConnect/EPI
