Job Responsibilities

• Serve as Research Biller for the Division of Hematology-Oncology Clinical Trials Unit. Primary responsibilities include:
• Perform project management, daily billing review, and approval of all research billing charges in CareConnect.
• Manage billing approvals in CareConnect, Excel, hard copy bills, or spreadsheets.
• Work with study teams to reconcile billing charges via phone, email, or in person.
• Coordinate with CareConnect Super Users to report billing corrections or system issues.
• Ensure quality control of registration and billing errors, correct billing, and develop and maintain billing reports, including OnCore updates.
• Develop reports for management.
• Review research protocols against budgets to validate exams and determine if a contract amendment is needed or to identify the correct billing path.
• Collaborate with management on billing-related projects.
• Provide billing support to the Finance Office and serve as backup for divisional needs.
• Assist with special projects as requested.

Must Have Requirements

• 2+ years of medical billing experience
• Strong knowledge of CPT codes and medical terminology, specifically within Hematology Oncology
• Strong Excel skills (ability to generate reports)
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills related to data analysis

Plusses

• Clinical trials billing experience
• Budgeting experience
• Experience with CareConnect / EPI
