University Health Services is seeking Medical Assistants to join our dynamic team! We have openings in both our Primary Care and Gynecology and Sexual Health teams. This position provides direct patient care to the students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
As a Medical Assistant at UHS, you will collaborate with various members of our interdisciplinary team to maintain efficient clinic operations. You will have diverse opportunities to work in areas such as primary care, gynecology and sexual health or community health clinics. In this role, you will support providers and nurses to ensure the needs of our students are met.

Principal Duties may include:
-- Administers and reads TB skin tests
-- Administers vaccinations
-- Assists with procedures
-- Serves as a chaperone for sensitive exams
-- May respond to inbox messages
-- Documents care in the electronic health record (EHR)
-- Performs routine vital signs
-- Prepares and cleans exam rooms
-- Inventories and orders equipment and supplies
-- Performs ECG's
-- Performs spirometry
-- Performs point of care testing, such as urine dips and pregnancy testing

Required
H.S. Diploma
Preferred:
-- At least six months of experience as a Medical Assistant
-- One year experience in a medical clinic or other healthcare setting.
-- Ability to perform technical patient care services where identifiable results are obtained, and instructions are well defined.
Preferred Certifications:
-- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Medical Assistant (MA) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Required
BCLS - Basic Life Support
Certification or must obtain certification prior to start date and provide documentation before beginning employment.
This position is onsite 5 days a week Monday - Friday.
Full Time: 100%
This position will be onsite at 333 East Campus Mall - UW Madison campus.
