Job description

Transdev is now hiring LOCAL Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Technician (Journeyman) for our Creeburn Shop in Fort McMurray, Alberta!

We are seeking permanent, full-time mechanics. We offer a competitive hourly rate starting at $52.06/hr (Plus a $4/hr premium for all regular hours!).

Your Role
  1. Lead preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  2. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, oil and tire changes.
  3. Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
  4. Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to identify faults and perform repairs.
  5. Overhaul engines and work on power shift transmissions, fuel injection, hydraulics, and electronics.
  6. Lead road calls and emergency services as needed.
  7. Move vehicles safely and perform test drives to ensure proper operation.
  8. Maintain accurate work records and complete work orders.
  9. Report safety issues and major safety observations to supervisors.
  10. Train staff and assist with toolbox meetings.
  11. Adhere to Transdev's policies and procedures.
  12. Perform additional duties as required.

Your Profile
  • Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Journeyman certification.
  • Class 5 (AB) Driver’s License with air endorsement.
  • CVIP Inspection certificate in Alberta.
  • Mechanic’s tool set.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts.
  • Experience with diesel vehicles.
Location Details
  • Unionized position near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
  • Work schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off, 12 hours per day.
  • Accommodation provided; travel expenses not reimbursed.
