Qualifications

We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder that can cause stroke, heart failure, and other complications.

Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. We have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System, with a strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiator. Our technical team has built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and helping to tell our story.

We have completed our pivotal clinical study, and our focus now is on regulatory approvals and a commercial launch, marking a significant milestone in bringing this technology to patients.

This role offers hands-on experience in specifying, performing, and overseeing verification and validation activities on complex medical devices. You will collaborate across departments including design engineering, clinical research, field operations, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing, gaining a broad understanding of medical device R&D.

Please note: This opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

You will engage in activities such as:

  1. Planning and executing testing activities to evaluate product performance
  2. Characterizing manufacturing processes and assessing process capability using design of experiments
  3. Validating tests with statistical methods to assess repeatability, reproducibility, and accuracy
  4. Analyzing test data using Excel and Minitab
  5. Authoring protocols and reports for regulatory submissions
  6. Interpreting and implementing medical device standards and regulations
  7. Collaborating with stakeholders on process or design changes and testing plans
  8. Participating in root cause investigations and corrective actions
  9. Driving continuous improvement of verification and validation procedures
  10. Designing and fabricating test jigs and fixtures using SolidWorks, CAMWorks, CNC mills, and lathes
What you bring to the team

Compensation

Kardium offers a total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) of $80,000 – 105,000 CAD annually. Compensation will be adjusted based on experience and qualifications. As a permanent employee, you will participate in our stock option plan.
