Job summary

W3Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Ontario to design custom mining equipment and engineered products using Autodesk Inventor. You will manage projects from initial customer requirements through manufacturing and delivery, collaborating with our fabrication shop to ensure high-quality, practical solutions.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional who enjoys hands-on engineering, interacting with customers, and guiding junior staff while ensuring designs meet safety

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (or eligible for registration).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience (preferred).
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and 3D models.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom mechanical equipment and components using Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD).
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept, design, procurement, manufacturing, and final delivery.
  • Work directly with underground mining customers to understand project requirements and develop practical solutions.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, fabrication, machining, and quality departments.
  • Support manufacturing by resolving technical issues and providing engineering guidance.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and project reviews as required.Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff when appropriate.
