MEPPI’s Transportation Systems Division (TSD) is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you'll be assembling and wiring our high-performance transportation products, ensuring they meet the rigorous standards our customers rely on. What You’ll Do:

  • Assemble with Precision: Perform electro-mechanical assembly of transportation products according to drawings, procedures, bills of materials, check-sheets, and other documentation.
  • Handle Complex Wiring: Conduct intricate wiring, routing, and connections following engineering specifications and company standards.
  • Collaborate with Senior Technicians: Assist with high-voltage insulation testing and other advanced electrical processes.
  • Use Tools Safely & Effectively: Operate hand and power tools with confidence and care while assembling sub-assemblies and full units.
  • Support Quality Assurance: Identify, correct, and document non-conforming products through rework and repair as needed.
  • Interpret Technical Documents: Read and understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and related materials to execute tasks accurately.
  • Inspect & Verify: Use gauges, meters, and visual checks to verify the quality of assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Complete process check sheets, production logs, and daily reports as required.
  • Enhance Processes: Contribute feedback to improve work instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Champion Safety & Quality: Understand and promote MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies in all work performed.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in electronics or a related technical field AND at least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical/durable goods assembly, manufacturing, or service/repair.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Skills:

  • Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Intermediate-level mechanical and electrical assembly skills, including proper wiring techniques.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documents (e.g., schematics, blueprints, BOMs).
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques used to judge quality of assemblies.
  • Strong general computer skills, especially with MS Office and ERP systems.

Other Qualifications:

  • Completion of applicable safety training for equipment such as powered industrial trucks or cranes.
  • A detail-oriented, team-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
