We are seeking a Mechanical Technician for our Satellite Systems team in Montreal.

Role:

Working within the Process and Automation group, the Mechanical Technician will set up automatic stations for assembly, provide technical support and debugging for existing systems, and collaborate with automation engineers on new system implementations.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble or modify test models and experimental setups following instructions or under supervision.
• Perform installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Participate in testing activities and record results.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Assist senior personnel with various tasks.
• Conduct periodic maintenance on equipment.
• Contribute to preparing time and cost estimates.
• Research and recommend parts for tests and fixtures.
• Assist in programming and startup of automated equipment using provided software.
• Ensure work complies with internal procedures and safety regulations.
• Perform additional related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• College diploma or equivalent in mechanical, aeronautical engineering, or related field; relevant experience may be considered.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of English is an asset.

Schedule:

• Training days: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Evening shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (possible 4-day workweek)
• Weekend shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Additional Information:

Successful candidates must obtain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
