Job description

This role encompasses two primary functions : collaborating with the Windsor plant to manufacture hydraulic presses and equipment for the North American market, and installing new equipment as well as repairing and upgrading existing equipment at customer sites across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair pumps, valves, cylinders, and other hydraulic components.
  • Provide hydraulic service and support for hydraulic presses and related equipment.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance and test equipment.
  • Provide operations and maintenance training to customers.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic equipment in fast-paced production environments.
  • Develop solutions on-site with support from the team in Windsor and German Headquarters.
  • Supervise installation and maintenance personnel on-site provided by the customers.
  • Mechanical and hydraulic expertise.
  • 3+ years experience in Mechanical / Hydraulic Technician roles or similar.
  • 2+ years experience in customer relations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within North America often and to Germany annually.
  • Experience using SAP or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Press machine experience and PLC programming.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in press, injection molding, or stamping.
  • Ability to be trained and adapt to new technologies.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Trade certification is an asset.

The position involves a 50 / 50 split between plant work and customer site visits. The standard shift at the plant is from 8am to 4pm, while on-site work may require 10-12 hour days depending on the job. The role offers overtime pay after 40 hours and double pay on Sundays. Frequent travel within North America and annual visits to the company headquarters in Germany are expected.
