Job summary

Schlumberger Limited is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Surface Well Testing team in Mount Pearl. The role focuses on on-time equipment delivery, reliability improvements, and cost-effective maintenance of SLB assets in a demanding field environment.

You will dismantle, inspect, assemble and test downhole logging tools, while adhering to Technology Lifecycle Maintenance standards and continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires legal work status in Canada.

Qualifications

• Wireline Sonde Mechanic experience for WL Open-Hole & Cased-Hole tools.
• Experience maintaining, repairing, testing and preparing downhole logging tools.
• Candidates must be legally able to work and reside in Canada without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned equipment to high standards to ensure functionality and minimize failures.
• Improve asset availability by reducing downtime through faster maintenance.
• Dismantle, inspect, assemble and test SLB assets.
• Comply with SLB Technology Lifecycle Maintenance standards.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and remedial work plans locally.
• Implement reliability practices.
• Execute Cost of Service Delivery projects such as repair and reuse of parts.
• Use maintenance systems for cost, time and equipment traceability.
• Participate in failure investigations when relevant.
• Follow fixed-step training program and record progress.

The Mechanical Technician oversees on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demand, improving the equipment reliability of the business’s assets, improving efficiency and asset utilization, and reducing cost of service delivery at the location. Roles and Responsibilities

Ensure all assigned equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, resulting in proper functionality and minimum failures.

Responsible for improving asset availability by reducing the asset turnaround time through reduction of asset waiting for maintenance.

Perform dismantle, inspection, assembly, and testing of SLB assets.

Comply to SLB Technology Lifecycle Maintenance (TLM) standards.

Responsible to support Continuous Improvement culture, initiatives & execute remedial work plan within his/her location.

Responsible for implementing reliability practices.

Implement Cost of Service Delivery projects, such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.

Utilize maintenance business systems to reach full cost, time, and equipment traceability for maintenance performance(movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain).

When relevant participating in failure investigations.

Follow fixed-step training program and ensure his/her training is on schedule and accurately recorded.

Qualifications and Experience

• Wireline Sonde Mechanic for WL Open-Hole & Cased-Hole tools.
• Experienced in maintaining, repairing, testing, and preparing the downhole logging tools.

Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the Canada without visa sponsorship.
