Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering for a flexible location in Quebec (Laval, Montreal, or Longueuil). You will lead study, design, and management of diverse projects in institutional, industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors, across Canada and beyond.

The successful candidate has over 15 years in mechanical engineering, is a licensed engineer in Quebec, and excels at mentoring, vision-crafting, and advancing design processes with a passion for innovation.

Qualifications

  • Over 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including institutional projects in plumbing, ventilation, and other complex systems.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Proven ability to communicate a clear vision, inspire, and create commitment within the team.
  • Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, guiding and developing team members.
  • Expertise in mechanical design, with ability to improve design processes.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.

Responsibilities

  • Study, design, and management of various projects across Quebec, the country, and overseas in institutional, industrial, commercial, and transportation settings.

Your background
  • Over 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including institutional projects in the fields of plumbing, ventilation, and other complex mechanical systems;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Proven ability to communicate a clear vision, inspire, and create a high level of commitment within the team;
  • Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, with an aptitude for guiding and developing the skills of team members;
  • Expertise in mechanical design, with an ability to improve design processes;
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
