Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings group in Canada seeks a Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead design and project management across institutional, industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors with a focus on sustainable, integrated solutions.

You will guide study, design, and management activities while mentoring teams, driving technical excellence, and promoting innovation in a dynamic environment. Ottawa/Mississauga, full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in institutional projects (plumbing, ventilation, and complex systems).
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Proven ability to communicate a clear vision and inspire teams.
• Strong mentoring and knowledge-sharing aptitude.
• Expertise in mechanical design and process improvements.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Your background

• Over 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including institutional projects in the fields of plumbing, ventilation, and other complex mechanical systems;
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
• Proven ability to communicate a clear vision, inspire, and create a high level of commitment within the team;
• Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, with an aptitude for guiding and developing the skills of team members;
• Expertise in mechanical design, with an ability to improve design processes;
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.

Pay Range:

Locations in Lower Mainland -- BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$128,300.00 - $178,300.00 Annuel

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
