Job Summary

Z’gamok Construction LP (ZCLP), a subsidiary of Z’gamok Enterprises Inc., an Indigenous business fully owned by Sagamok Anishnawbek, provides a diverse range of services across multiple business segments, including construction, haulage, underground mining services, and commercial janitorial.

Z’gamok Construction LP (ZCLP) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Mechanical Shop Helper/Runner.

The Mechanical Shop Helper/Runner will be responsible for performing minor mechanical tasks such as tire rotations, maintaining the Mechanical Shop cleanliness and assisting with parts delivery to/from the Mechanical Shop and various work locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in inspecting and testing equipment to identify issues.
  • Helping with regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, tire rotation, and brake inspections.
  • Support the Mechanics in repairing or replacing faulty parts.
  • Helping to maintain cleanliness and organization of the Mechanic shop.
  • Assisting in maintaining an inventory of parts and tools.
  • Transporting tools and supplies to and from the Mechanical Shop and various work locations, as needed.
  • Learning and applying new technical skills under the supervision of a mechanic.
  • Adhering to safety procedures and protocols at all times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid G drivers license, with an acceptable driving record.
  • Education certificate in trades (Welding, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Coach Mechanic)
  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
