Job description

The Opportunity

Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to the customers. The successful candidate will perform all tasks related to the testing, diagnosing, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of electric motors and all rotating apparatus in our Regina facility and on our customers' sites.

The Role

  • Assess and troubleshoot problems in large electric motors and rotating equipment including, fans, gear boxes, generators and turbines in the field and plant.
  • Acquire and analyze vibration data and perform field balancing.
  • Troubleshoot rotating and static machinery issues through data analysis.
  • Supervise the removal and installation of large rotating equipment when required.
  • Compile data and draft technical reports for customers while complying with professional and quality standards.
  • Interact with our customers to solve equipment issues and provide assistance when required. Perform mechanical duties on customers' equipment in the plant when not working onsite.

The Candidate

  • Great attitude who understands the importance of customer service.
  • Eager to take on a challenge and grow into the role with potential for job advancement.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in a service capacity with rotating equipment.
  • Graduate Engineer (mechanical or electrical), or Journeyman tradesperson E.M.S.T - C.E.T - or E.I.T.
  • Experience in data acquisition, vibration analysis and field balancing preferred. CAT II or above is required.
  • Knowledge: Strong time management skills including, experience successfully managing multiple small projects at one time.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English (written and oral) and computer skills.
  • Ability to problem solve on site and under time constraints.
  • Ability to work on customers' site with limited supervision. Able to work overtime and travel when required. Electrical knowledge would be an asset.
  • Maintain a professional company image at all times.
  • Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
