We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Mechanical Services Manager with experience in managing an automotive service center. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for delivering vehicle reconditioning, repair, and inspection services for commercial and dealer customers. You will be involved in daily operations of a 6 bay shop, monitoring key performance indicators, and supporting a team of service technicians. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your experience in leadership, automotive repair, and operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a similar role.

You Will:
Supervise and provide mentorship for Automotive Service Technicians, Apprentices, Service Advisors, and office administrators; including allocation of assignments, inspection of work, and performance management
Ensure efficient and effective delivery of automotive repair/maintenance services to Dealers & Corporate Clients, including monitoring and managing controllable expenses, ensuring department is operating efficiently and meeting financial targets including KPIs and profitability
Ensure vehicles receive & are billed for services in accordance with corporate and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Ensure production information and reporting is accurately captured in company systems, including VTrace, AMS, and respond to portal or internal requests in a timely manner
Maintain positive business relationships with customers, which may include participating in negotiations regarding fees, costs, contracts, and service agreements, and promoting retail ready reconditioning services in collaboration with the General Manager & sales team.
Serve as an escalation point and subject matter expert for the claims operations (arbitrations) team.
Monitor, inspect, and enhance shop operations to ensure compliance with corporate and industry safety standards; ensuring that shop equipment has regular maintenance and repairs as required to remain in good working condition

Who You Will Work With :
Reporting to the Operations Manager (or General Manager), this role will collaborate with the VLC leadership, department representatives, and our shared services team on a daily basis.
This role will frequently interact with customers, including supporting arbitration claims resolution.
Must Haves:
Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience
3-5 years' supervisory experience
3-5 years’ experience in automotive service center, with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair services
Valid Driver’s License
Strong customer service and communication skills
Able to efficiently respond to various requests at one time
Nice to Haves:
Previous experience or education as an Automotive Service Technician, Apprentice, or Service Advisor
Experience with Mitchell estimating system
Tech-savvy, familiarity with Google Suite is an asset
